Human Capital Media Research and Advisory Group Releases 2016 Diversity Value Index
Annual benchmarking report offers organizations a better understanding of the value created by diversity and inclusion.
Chicago, IL (PRWEB) August 10, 2016 — Human Capital Media (HCM), the largest integrated media company serving the human capital industry, announced today the release of their 4th annual Diversity Value Index (DVI) benchmarking report. The final product was published through Human Capital Media’s Research and Advisory Group, HCM’s research arm, and is available for purchase at: workforce.com/DVI2016.
The DVI measures the value created by diversity and inclusion within an organization, aiming to educate business leaders, offer a transparent and data-driven framework behind diversity and inclusion and provide a set of D&I best practices for others to follow. The team responsible for the development of the DVI is comprised of HCM editors, internal analysts and outside senior diversity executives — who also serve as the DVI advisory board. Participants were assessed by a cadre of practitioner judges.
“Organizations typically measure diversity’s value through biographic and demographic data alone,” says Sarah Kimmel, HCM’s vice president of research. “What sets the DVI apart is its ability to assess the business impact of diversity and compliance. Compliance plays a much larger part in diversity representation than many companies know; it offers indisputable evidence to support organizations outperforming their competitors in large part because of workforce diversity.”
Through a multi dimensional, evidence-based framework model, the DVI benchmarks critical areas of diversity and inclusion strategies, established to reflect how organizations can continuously improve based on diversity and inclusion strategies.
“Many of us believe that diversity leads to better business outcomes,” Kimmel says, “but it’s been extremely challenging to provide evidence that this is true. The DVI tackles this challenge head on and does so with precision data and research. We think the DVI should be examined by any business leader looking to improve company productivity through establishing a diverse and open workplace.”
